Happy 4th of July...!!!
So, where are you going this week-end??? The weather's suppose to be great for the next few days, so...
Anyway, we'll be open everyday no matter what so if you stay in town, you can swing by. For Sunday, we'll feature the DRUNKEN CHICKEN!!! The bird is seared and then stewed in beer, it keeps it very moist and tender with great flavors.
What about the wine, you will say...??? Well, we got some new stuff in including 2 roses.
The first one is from Alain Allier from Domaine Mouressipe. This cuvee, called "Galejade" (means a joke), is a blend of the typical grapes you can find in the Languedoc : grenache, syrah and carignan. Very dry with a light pink color, it drinks like pink lemonade!!!
The second on is from Austria. Schilcher is a wine produced solely in the Austrian region of Western Styria, sharing a border with Slovenia and Carinthia to the south and west. The wine growing area is the smallest in Europe. The Schilcher wine itself is a distinct rosé made from the indigenous Blauer Wildbacher grape. A deep ruby color, a very aromatic nose full of wild flower keeps surprising you when you taste it with a great long finish.
Then we're going sparkling with Andrea Calek. This wild guy helps Gerald Oustric (Domaine Le Mazel) to make wine in Ardeche. He lives in a trailer by the vineyard and make some wines on his own. We chooses the sparkling, blend of chardonnay and viognier,"Blonde 008"!!! Nothing to say about it beside "TRY IT"
Last but not least, a white Saumur (100% Chenin Blanc) from Domaine de la Tour Grise 2002. Beautifull balance between acidity and freshness, honey, green apple and citrus notes, it's a winner with oysters!!!
Cheers
