Sunday Night Delicacies???

...we're back to business... First, the Great News : Sunday Night Delicacies are back!!!
Little reminder : every Sunday, we'll feature a special dish coming from some place in the World.

Example : this coming Sunday, we'll be featuring Kefta. This is Yassine's Algerian meat balls, he uses grounded beef seasoned with middle-eastern spices and cook them in a spicy tomato sauce. If you've been with us over the past few years in Montauk, on a hot Summer day, chilling and drinking buckets of wine admiring Yassine, in shorts, grilling his meat balls, you would understand...!!! So step right up, we'll do the show indoor, on a cool Fall night, with still, the buckets of wine.

Then, things gets busy. This coming Thursday is gonna be the 3rd Thursday of November, and on that glorious day, we join forces and celebrate the infamous Beaujolais Nouveau!!!

After being offered to buy some beautiful Georges Dubeuf Beaujolais Nouveau 2009, we decided celebrate the glorious region of Beaujolais by drinking old vintages of some of the most known and respected Gamay on the Planet. Infortunatly, none, except one, had anything for sell. If you wanna drink them, you have to go visit some cellars and promise, I'll do so in Spring, I can already feel the Heat!!!

So we finally gonna do it a little like last year. We gonna get a big load of different Beaujolais (reds, white  & sparkling???), from different appellations and from different wine makers (hope you like Morgon though), and they'll all be available by the glass. Still working on the list that will be posted very soon, but you can expect a good dozen of wines.

Only 3 bottles of plou-plou 08 Houillon/Overnoy available...

New wines... SP 68 is back!!! I was hoping to get some mags but it's delayed. So we'll seek vengeance with the 750's. SP stands for Strada Provinciale 68, the name of the road that pass by the vineyard. It's a blend of Frappato and Nero d'Avola. The wine is clean and yummy, earthy and round with licorice flavors. Made as a "vin de soif", best to order it first, carafe it, drink something else and then, close your eyes, swirl your glass, smell it, taste it... yes, you're in love with Sicily!!!

Back with a new vintage, Minervois is one great appellation from the Languedoc-Roussillon region. Lately we were enjoying "Le Regal du Loup" 06 from Domaine du Loup Blanc own by Alain Rochard & Laurent Farre. This cuvee is a blend of Carignan, Grenache & Syrah, the 06 was well balanced with black fruit notes, a hint  of chocolate and great spices that tickle you palate. The 07 is coming today, we didn't try it yet, but I promise we will today.

A bubble, yes and in magnum... K, you're the Best!!!  One of the first post we put on the website was about it, on January 11 2008 by Emilie. Casa Coste Piane is a very unique Prosecco. It's a total organic Prosecco made from vines around 60 years old thathave grown roots up to 30 meters long that goes down deep to capture the minerality of the terroir and transmit it to the grape. The unique factor is that the second fermentation happen in the bottle, naturally with its own wild yeast.  There's no disgorgement for this juice, means the lees are still in the bottle. The result is a wine with a great complexity and minerality.I promise, we'll have it in 750's next week.

You'll say : "Hey, you already forgot about the Loire???"
Of course not... Cabernet Franc Lovers??? Anyone, anyone??? Bueller, Bueller??? Coming today, "Amateus Bobi" 06, a Saumur-Champigny from Sebastien Bobinet. On his 2 hectares of old Cabernet Franc, Sebastien, a disciple of the Foucault Brothers who alsolearned with Olivier Cousin, work with a horse. He brings us this great cuvee that taste beautifully now. With big ripe black fruits on the nose, it has vegetal notes, and a mineral scent of fresh stone. Really, really yummy, makes me wanna eat some roasted suckling pig. By the way, I got one in my fridge, come home!!!
